CAE 7/2 ABSOLUTE SHAFT
ENCODER AND RECORDER


  • CAE 7/2 measures the angular position of a rotating axis, of wich it records temporal fluctuations in static numerical memory and/or transmits real time value.
  • CAE 7/2 can be adapted to most of float or pneumatic limnimeters or limnigraphs, and allows automatic processing of measurements.
  • CAE 7/2 is independant, it consumes very little power which can be supplied by solar panel.

    Working
      The angular position of limnigraph or limnimeter transmission shaft is measured by a 2 pole incremental encoder made up of magnets moving in front of reed switches.

    Signals stemming from the incremental encoder are exploited by a microprocessor which has the following functions:

    transition detection on incremental encoder which causes change from «stand by» state to «operative» state. absolute position calculation. level calculation with scale reset. numerical filtering of measurements. compaction of measurements. storage control of compacted measurements in a protected RAM memory. ontrole of time-of-day clock (calendar). display and keybord control for local operator dialogue. control of the V 24 / RS 232 C serial numerical communication port. monitoring of the internal operating state (supply, memory, clock).

    Measurement compaction before storage in memory is accomplished by a linearization algorithm which allows comparison of the level temporal evolution curve to a straight line segment series of which spatial ant temporal coordinates of inclination changes are memorized.

      Packaging CAE 7/2 is housed in a waterproof cast aluminium box which can be fixed on a base or an intermediary plate by 4 screws.

    As standard, the encoder axis is on the left and supply junction DIN plug is on the right. On request this arrangement can be reversed. Encoder transmission axis (NEYRTEC, HYDROLOGIC, OTT, RITTMEYER... devices) or can can be used simply as a float limnimeter.

    CAE 7/2 is deliveredwith a 2m line cord.
